For no reason, our 16-port analog card lost dial tone on 9 ports. I rebooted the switch but only 1 got recovered but I still have 8 ports with no dial tone. Any suggestions or info would be appreciated...

If this is the last eight on the card. The card has blowen and needs to be replaced.

Thanks for replying...It's actually random, ports 2,5,6,7,9,11,12, 14.

Hi,
May be something wrong with TTI service on your switch. Try to enter command:
status tti
Have you any active/alarms associated with this board?
Try to observ both sides of the circuit pack for traces of fire.

If you run test board. What are the errors that are being returned for this board? Are you using UTP or Teleco. cable?

turn tests off on ALL analog boards. They will error 513 all day if they're not turned off.

The error 513 means the test #48 wasn't completed successfully. This test checks is the phone set connected to an analog port or not. Useful feature, by the way.

Depending upon the age of the board, your telecom vendor may replace it under warranty. And if the new board shows a number of dead ports, then perhaps the problem is deeper. Just a thought... Doug Frith

Analogue boards are prone to blowing since they can take a hammering. It's for this reason that it is recommended to stretch intuity ports out over several boards. Also the boards are not capable of servicing 16 ports simultaneously (capacity issue) which is not great.

Have you tried popping the board out and re-seating it again

Is it always the same ports or does it appear to be more random ?
