We have a Succession Branch Office 3.0 loacated in London and our main office opt81c running Succession 3.0 software is in Chicago. We have an MPLS connection between the 2 sites. We also are using SCCS 4.2 When an acd call comes in to the branch office, it is routed back to the main office for SCCS treatment. The scripts call for the calls to be presented to the london agents first and if no one is available, to the Chicago agents. The routing seems to work fine however, when the phone is answered by a chicago agent, its dead air on both the caller and the agent. I have traced these out and the call remains connected until one of the parties hangs up, then I get normal call clearing.

Conversely, when an acd call comes into Chicago first, everything works fine. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?? Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like all your routing is fine, look at the things that will affect the media path like VGMC's, also some times the codecs go on primary rates so check the channels make sure speech path is ok (Use an analogue or digital set to do the PRI testing so no VGMCs involved), then test with an IP set shuting down each VGMC channel after each test till they are all tested. Other than that trace on the VGMC's and make sure correct codec selection for the calls across the pond.

Thanks bignose21 for the advice...I have determined that in fact it is a codec issue with one side being G711 and the other G729a. I have change the zone setting to be BQ for both intrazone and interzone callsforcing the G711 codec. This is the only way I know how to force the codec. Is there any other way to do it as I don't know what type of ramifications it may have on my bandwidth.

Once again any help is appreciated.

If it was set to BB the G729a codec should be used if it is not check that its is enabled at both ends in the NODE Config in Element Manager.
