DdHelp Error !!!!

Hello to all,

Can someone help me? I'm running Windows ME and all of a sudden my computer freezes and it gives me the DdHelp caused an error. I can't ctrl-Alt-Delete, I have to power off and back on in order to un-freez it.

Does anyone have any idea what this is? How can I fix the problem.

Could you post the full and exact error message

ddhelp caused an error (invalid page fault ?) in module ?

Posting a hijackthis log would also help

Please Download hijackthis from


Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

After the scan has finished the "scan" button will turn into a "save log" button

save the log file and paste it here

Do not delete anything yet, as most things hijackthis finds are harmless and needed.

I've done what you mentioned above. It still freezes up. Any more ideas what could be wrong?

Can I just FDisk my hard drive and re-install everything back? Will this solve my problem?

As I said in my first post

If we knew the module - we would possibly know where to look for the problem

You could also do this :-

Please Download and install SpyBot,


click the online tab to search for and download the updates, then shut down and relaunch SpyBot.

Go to the Settings tab > File Sets, and uncheck 'System Internals' and 'Tracks' .
These aren't needed for our present purpose, and you can always experiment with them later on.

Finally, after closing down Internet Explorer, click 'Check for problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds 'Fix selected problems'

you may have to run spybot more than once to clear everything

Remove everything pre-ticked in Red
