dddw empty 'select error'

Hi All,
I am new to powerbuilder and have to support an application that was developed in pb7 and migrated to pb8 recently. I am having issues with a dropdown dw inside a data window.

Issue: Everytime a retrieve is done in this dddw a empty message "Select error:" is showed.

How could I fix it? As far as I know it was working on pb7.

You need to debug the select either in PB or by setting up a trace on the database to capture the sql being sent to determine what the error is.

Hi mbalent, thanks for your reply.
I did the debug and there is nothing wrong with the query. If I restrict the number of rows returned to this dddw it works fine. The query is returning about 5000 rows.

Could it be related to running PB8 on Windows Vista?

Have you tried recreatig your datawindow?

Go to the datawindow's design mode.
Click on SQL.
Right click on the table, choose Deselect All.
Then go back again, choose Select All.
Configure your Update Properties then save.
Test.
