DCS with Modular Mesaaging

Here is the deal, I have 2 PBX's connected via DCS. The main PBX is connecting to a MM. I need to be able to connect the other PBX to MM as well.

I have a hunt group, aar, etc. setup to where the MM answers cov path'd calls but it only answers as the main greeting.

Is there anything special I need to do in the PBX to pass the correct extension so MM recognizes it?

There are Avaya provided configuration notes for every supported integration MM has to date. Go to support.avaya.com, then to the version of your MM product, then to the integration method your MM system is using.

Or if you have a maintenance provider for your product you can ask them for this.

Well this is the reason I am here. Avaya's docs are not helping me in this case.

I have tried their rem-vm and all I get is a busy signal and there is nothing in the traces to show why.

When I try the qsig-mwi, the MM answers with the general greeting.

I know I am close but I am missing something..

I am reaching out to the group to see if anyone else has run into these issues and what the resolution is.

Texeric is trying to tell you to check your integration configuration. If you know who he works for, you'd understand they're a fairly reputable organization and well schooled on MM. Maybe his bedside manner needs a little tweaking. ;-)

Often times when you're not being answered properly by the MM, it's because it doesn't know who you are. Maybe you want to post your setup? Have you properly filled out the public numbering and private numbering forms? What if you send CPN on the station form?

Does MM work over a DCS trunk? I thought you had to convert to QSIG.

Some (or most) integrations can work over DCS in terms of call coverage. The bigger issue seems to come with QSIG or SIP MWI.
