I have an existing MSDL card with 2 open ports that I am going to use for DCHs for 2 new PRIs I am installing.

The MSDL currently has 2 DCHs for two othe PRIs

My question is will enabling the 2 new DCHs on the MSDL card interrupt service for the two PRIs already installed or can I make the adds without affecting service.

Thanks for the help!

after you build the new dch's.. you have to dis msdl x all, then enl msdl x fdl.. you'll see sdl 100..ie down;laod in progress.. under to minutes..

the up side is calls in progress do not drop.. the d is only used for setup and teardown..

when i can i build the pri and backup d's on two different msdl cards.. then you can dis dch x auto (all ld 96m btw),, that makes the bdch active and no call disruption happens..

You should be able to add them w/o affecting the other 2, however if you do have trouble, or it doesn't come up, you will have to FDL the card, thus causing interuption. With 4 D's on 1 MSDL, might run into trouble with too many messages received, causing the card card to lock or reboot randomly. As cheap as MSDLs are today, I would add one.

yes buddy, the card has to load that new code to play well with others.. i wouldn't have went into so much detail if i'd noticed it was you... you could teach this stuff

I don't run msdls anymore, except on PRI Gateway, I don't remember ever having 4 Dch on one card due to card crap out?? usually 1, 1 Bdch and maybe a tty

we rum 8 msdl's to avoid 4 per card.. if the op is still reading, it's not clean to have your d's and your pris in two different loops either...

my two ld loops.. 1 and 81.. the msdl cards lives in the same group as the pri card.. if i loose a group, i only loose the pri;s that live in that group.. if all my msdl's were in one group, my pris could stay up, just not take new calls..
