DCC Card or Modem Prob?

I have a 9600 with 2 DCC cards (4 dcu ports) 1 is used for on site miantenance and smdr, the other is used for v.m. integration and remote maintenance. The problem recently has been that sometimes when I remotely call in, it locks up the port and then the system shuts down that DCC card and then their v.m. integration doesn't work because of it. Then I have to go onsite and just do a res io dcc command on that particular card and system is back up. The ports in question of course are their main ones that are on the cpu card. Anybody ever run into this where the modem possibly is sending something bad to switch making it shut down the card? It ONLY happens when I call in remote (intermittently) Any suggestions?

The only time I have seen something like this is when the user fogot to logout and let the connection on the F9600 Time Out. When the F9600 tried to communicate that it was logging out the user automatically, there was no connection and the PBX locked out the port.

The other thing is to make sure that the port is not set to alert any alarm messages. The same thing can happen if it communicates and nobody is connected via the modem.

I can't find the command to disable alarm reporting on that DCC port.

The senerio Brett describes above should only lock up the DCU port. NOT the whole DCC card. You have a hardware problem if the entire DCC lock up.

The command to redirect the alarm output is CHA AFMPT

As bgibsonin stated, you should log out before disconnecting. Also, what is the baud rate for the voicemail smdi. As you increase the smdi baud rate is will cause the other dcc ports to be unusable. It causes conflicts. It may appear to work, but your remote causing the smdi to fail is a symptom. SMDI does not need to be fast at all' 1200 works just fine. It's not ike there is a lot going on on the port.
