I have been having trouble with the photocopy component of my DC2006. I get the recurring message "Scanner Error Cycle Power". I recycle the power and everything works well again. If the printer sits idle for a couple of hours (or more) the message comes up again. As well, sometimes while copying, the error "size mismatch" occurs or the copy is missing part of the original and the job is flushed. Sometimes it asks for paper to be added to the paper tray.
There does not seem to be anything really wrong, as cycling the power seems to correct the problem. None of these occur when using the machine as a printer.
Any ideas what could be causing the problem?

sounds like a firmware issue. Try to flash it, if it can be, and change any network card if it has one.

Thanks for your reply.
1. Have you access to updated firmware? Can't get it from Xerox and it's not available on the website.
2. the network connection is built into the main pwb so I can't change it.

I'll get om my Xerox Tech site and have a look.

Sorry, I can't find much as it is a discontinued product. The drivers are all that is available.Parts are slim, and they do not have much of an answer even for me.
The cost of part{s} you would need exceed the value of the unit. Call Xerox about an upgrade to another unit. Luck.

Thanks again.
I have Xerox looking for the missing firmware file. I'll see what they come up with.
Iteminc has used parts for cheap and I've bought off them in the past. They might have what I need (if I need anything).
I know the printer is older but it still prints great and I have a good supply of consumables. I do wish I had access to the Xerox service tech's database though :)

Xerox contacted me and said they could not supply the firmware update listed on the web as it is too large even for their ftp server. The file I need is "Update062701_2006_Rev8.ps". Has anyone access to this update?
