Here is my situation. I have a large enterprise with about 20 DC's. Yes 20... I am taking some down because we don't need that many dc's. Prior administration felt that this was necessary. I Promoed down a dc the other day and it finished fine. No problems taking it down, but I did have one dc go into a Journal Wrap. I recovered that one and everything is replicating fine. When I run Replmon I don't have any errors except for when I uncheck "Hide Retired Partners". Should I be concerned about this? Will this clear itself or do I need to do it manually? I will be taking down about 5 more so I want to know what I need to do to ensure a clean take down of these DC's. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Take a look at my FAQ faq96-4733 and run the script that is at the end of it. That will let you know if the server that freaked out is still in the meta directory data. If it is, then you will be able to easily remove it with the script.

Following that you will want to check your DNS servers and remove entries for this server and have the server re-register with DNS.

I hope you find this post helpful. Please let me know if it was.

Regards,

Mark

Mark,
Thanks for replying to my post. That Script is Good to Go. Hopefully I won't have to use it to many times. Thanks again.
