When I do sp_who2 I see program dbutility taking up most of my memory.

We have Database Engine, Analysis Services and Reporting Services all on the same server so memory usage is at its max and server is very slow.

We plan to separate the things on different servers but for now not sure what to do to make it run better.

Is there some way that I can change the priority of things running. I would like to change the priorty on the dbuitlity down while a few of my high priority jobs are running and then can turn it back up later?

I am assuming your not using SQL2008 else you can use resource governor to split out resource, other than that there is no way to give processes more resource / less resource.

I am using SQL 2005. Does that mean I can not control prioritys?
