I have a program using SQL Server(MSDE2000 & MS SQL Server 2000). On Windows XP Pro when the program is running a batch module which hits the server IP repetitively over a period of time, I get the "[DBNETLIB] [connection open ()).] sql server does nor exist or access denied" and after a brief pause not hitting the server, the program can resume processing. It appears that XP security is blocking the server IP and then releasing it again after a brief period of inactivity.
Does anyone know if this is what is happening and if so is there a setting in XP to allow unlimited access to the server IP?
Any help would be appreciated.
