Hello, I have a simple but yet a perplexing problem. my DBM32 Module just stopped working for no apparent reason. So I have been troubleshooting the cause for a couple of days now. The first thing I tried was to replace the 1151 power supply to see if that was the culprit, but still no lights on the DBM32. Next I tried replacing the Cat5 cable from PS to the phone. Still nothing. Then I swapped out the DBM32 itself with a new one. Still nothing. Now my frustration level was getting high so I just ordered a new 1416 phone and hooked that up. Still nothing. So basically I replaced everything I could, I even tested the 1151 output and that was supplying 48v. So my question is when I first plug in the DBM32 should all the lights come on for a few seconds like the 1416 does? Is this a software problem? I reset the enter system to see if that would reset any software glitch. That didn't do anything. Any help would be much a appreciated. Dave

Yes the cable connections are correct.

This is our main reception desk. There are no other phones programmed for the DMM32

I replaced all components with brand new pieces. The replacement 1416 actually updated itself when that was first connected. So I'm at a loss.

Then try straight on the IPO and try also a different port.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Ok, I'm back. I found out that when this started to happen last week there was a new receptionist there. Is there a way that you can turn off the DBM32 from the 1416 itself? Not having to go into the Manager.

oy oy oy oy oy! I have to fess up! When I went down to try tlpeter and joe2938 suggestion. I saw lights on my module. So I went back to the main desk and noticed that the two wires were swapped! This is what the replacement receptionist did last week. She was tidying up the area and unplugged the wires and put them in the wrong slot. Oy! I could have sworn I checked it but I kept putting it back the way she did it. Interesting how the phone still worked but not the module. Completely threw me off. I deserve all the derision that you all throw at me. Thanks for all your help and incredible patience. Dave

This is EXACTLY WHY I told you to do as I suspected a wiring issue, been there done that!

And I will bet you those 2 wires were the brown pair as this is the pair that carries the power to the expansion module

And a single pair wire is going from the jack in the wall to the power brick LAN/PBX port and a CAT5/CAT6 cable is going from the Phone port on the power brick to the 1416? It sounds like it isn't getting power at all which could be the wiring mixed up.

Well the 1416 was working, just not the module.
Joe2938 when I tested the PS it was actually the blue pair that had the 48 volts on it.

I know that but I was under the impression that pins 7&8 (brown pair normally) carry the power to the module, but was just curious

Me too, that's why I checked them first. And of coarse the blue pair were the last I tried, and this was just a regular patch cable I cut to use with my volt meter. So there you have it.
