Hello, I have a simple but yet a perplexing problem. my DBM32 Module just stopped working for no apparent reason. So I have been troubleshooting the cause for a couple of days now. The first thing I tried was to replace the 1151 power supply to see if that was the culprit, but still no lights on the DBM32. Next I tried replacing the Cat5 cable from PS to the phone. Still nothing. Then I swapped out the DBM32 itself with a new one. Still nothing. Now my frustration level was getting high so I just ordered a new 1416 phone and hooked that up. Still nothing. So basically I replaced everything I could, I even tested the 1151 output and that was supplying 48v. So my question is when I first plug in the DBM32 should all the lights come on for a few seconds like the 1416 does? Is this a software problem? I reset the enter system to see if that would reset any software glitch. That didn't do anything. Any help would be much a appreciated. Dave

have you replaced the cable between the phone and the BM32? are you 100% sure its in the right port on the back of the BM32?

Yes I had to buy a new DBM32 to get a new cable because I couldn't find the cable only. That's a $59 dollar cable! Arrrrgh! And yes I tripled checked all my connections.

can't recall about all the lights flashing... are you 100% sure about the buttons being programmed? have you checked manager?

Are there any more DBM's attached to the system?
I thought you can connect a x numbers of DBM's per IP Office.

Thanks for getting to me so quick, btw. Is there a LED light check when you first plug in the DBM32? I forgot if there is.

Well that's what I was wondering. could this be a software issue. I t was working fine for 3 months since I replaced the 1416 it is hooked up too.

Did you verify the buttons are programmed via Manager as gknight1 suggested?

Just looked at Manager and they are programmed.

try this, go directly to the digital port on the IP Office and if it works there then you have a wiring problem at the jack location.

It's really troubling and frustrating because I literally swapped out all of the components and I'm still having a problem. That's why I am so interested whether these LED's flash for a couple of seconds when the module powers up. At least that way I know if it is getting power.

Test directly from the digital port on the IP Office and let us know

Is the powerbrick still connected?
You need one to power the DBM32 and not the phone so it might be unplugged from the power plug or something similar.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The jack works fine. I forgot to mention the 1416 itself works fine. It's just the module that is not working. Also I can dial any local extension from the 1416. So I'm guessing the extensions are programmed with Manager.

I replaced the 1151 with a new one and I also tested the output of that PS and it is supplying 48V.

You do need a UTP cable between the powerbrick and the 1416, is that the case?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

It does flash when you power one on. Is the cord in back going from the phone icon port on the BM32 to the Mod port of the 1416?

You all got me double guessing my self so I went and check all connections again. And they are good. Arrrrgh!

Thanks Telecomboy, so it is suppose to flash. Which it definitely doesn't do. So what gives!!
