Hi guys!!!!

I have a problem with Windows NT and my Databases; After I close the program the databases continue open..... I use the command "Close Databases" after each process and at the exit of the EXE..... Some one knows what is happening and How can I fix it?????...... Thanks.....

Carlos J.

Carlos:

Just in case: If you do not speak spanish:
Exactly, how do you know that your program left the tables open? Please tell me more about your exact situation in order to help you...

;)

NT4 have more problems with clipper.
The NT4 work fine if the service release is >= 4.

Thanks Mike
We're using NT 4.5
And I still having the problem....
What other problems are you talking about????

EL NT4 NO MODIFICA LAS BASES DE DATOS CORRECTAMENTE EN ALGUNOS CASOS EN LAS VERSIONES ANTIGUAS I A VECES NO CIERRA LOS FICHEROS HE TENIDO MUCHOS PROBLEMAS CON ELLO.
LA MISMA APPLICACION FUNCIONABA DE MARAVILLA CON NW5

A PARTIR DEL SERVICE PACK 4 ESTOS PROBLEMAS DESAPARECIERON

RECUERDA QUE SI INSTALAS ALGUNA APPLICACION DESPUES DEL SERVICE PACK EN EL SERVIDOR ES CONVENIENTE VOLVER-LO A INSTALAR

Had this problem on a peer2peer network using WIN98 on 8 PCs and NT-Workstation as the Server. NT-Workstation kept reporting that the files were still OPEN and IN USE even
though the .EXE had CLOSE ALL as the last instruction!

Cured the problem by loading the patches for NT-Workstation
(Service Pack Six) then searched Microsoft Support site for
article Q102630 and followed their instructions:-
e.g.
tweaking the registry settings
RFCB
Opportunistic File Locking
turned off most File Caching
etc

Hope this helps
Jim
