Hi all,

I trying to design a simple reporting tool to extract data from JDE World using ODBC.
The frontend i'm using will be Microsoft Access.
Unfortunately, i have chinese and japanese characters stored in my JDE. And when called out using Access, these characters are garbage.

I've read something like DBCS and Unicode having conversion problems. Anybody have a workaround or a solution?

thanks.

We use the IBM client access ODBC driver.

In the data source you can specify on the connection string, 'Forcetransalation' this should help.

Hi jd69

thanks so much for your reply.

but..i can't seem to find that option. do u configure that under control panel --> odbc -->then configure the ODBC connection?

there is a translation tab at the top. but i can't seem to find anything to do a 'forcetranslate'.

thanks.
