Dear All;

Im trying to activate the 4422 IP Phone and facing the following problem,, Im connecting the telephone to the LAN network and no problems with the used cables ,, then Im giving a static IP to the telephone and save it,, and make sure that the IP is saved ,, after all of this Im trying to ping to the telephone but there is no reply.(it is not cabling problem)

the second trial that im trying to give the telephone an IP from the DHCP ,, and after rebooting it is trying to connect to the DHCP but after a while it says that there is a problem to connect to the DHCP.

The strange is there is no reply form the phone but if you disconnect the data cable from the telephone ,, the disply shows NO Network Connection.

is there any advice.

Are you sure you have all infos entered: IP, Mask, defaultgateway and did the phone restart after this?

connect the same cable to ur PC and try to connect via NetMeeting using gatekeeper IP address in ur MD110 and a telephone number for the IP extension. it should connect if you have no problems,

Have you tried using the same cable with another device?

Are any devices on the same or on different segments? If not, are you sure ip is set up correctly?

Have you tried capturing the Ethernet frames coming from the phone and/or DHCP server and run them through a protocl analyzer (e.g. Ethereal)? This can be very helpful!

I have tried all of these suggestions,,,,

Note: I have configured the IP address of the phone also the gateway and the gate keeper and gavec it addresses within my subnet,,,should I configure other parameters to be able to get reply after pinging.

note:It is not cabling problem because i used the same cable with the dbc425 and its working fine.....

Maybe the device is faulty, this happens sometimes. One other thing to check, are there any VLAN settings on the phone?? Next set static IP with software server address as your PC. Use x-over to connect device to your PC and allow it to upgrade to latest release. If this does not work then you have a 3 way choice
1. Pray
2. Hammer
3. Return to /// and ask for new one

Either way haaaaaaaappppppyyyyyyyy xmas[santa3]

We are currently having similar problems with a batch of DBC422 handsets even though our DBC425's are working fine on same network connection. We have not used DBC422's before.

The problem is yet to be resolved but it's looking like the firmware load for the phone is the problem and our supplier is working with Ericsson TAC to correct it.

Not sure what BC you're running but we finally resolved our problem with late model (manufactured Nov 2004) DBC422 R3A handset by going from BC11 SP13 to BC11 SP14

It included some DECT enhancements too.

All good now !
