Hello all,
If anyone out there runs into problems migrating a dBase V app from Netware 4.11 to Netware 6, I have a tip. If you begin to experience index file corruption on large files routinely, check the setting "CLIENT FILE CACHING ENABLED". It should be set to OFF.

Also, I recommend administrators to do as little file compression as possible. In Novell 5.0, and perhaps other releases too, if a table which already had a .MDX index existing but happened to be compressed, perhaps to not being used recently, then adding another index TAG would cause an error. I had to first USE the table a few times (to force the network to detect the multiple calls and decompress them on the server drives) and then I was able to add the TAGs.
