I have DBASE 3 database, and I need to find way to either have a real time connector to a SQL version of the same database or something that goes in every night that updates the SQL version from the DBASE 3 version. I think we have tried real time before, but it can lock our DBASE 3 database. Is there any program that could go in every night and update the SQL version? There is no need synhcronize, and the updating would be one way only(FROM DBASE to SQL). Can anyone help? Any third party solution? Shareware? ANything?

When you say database, you actually mean free tables, ".DBF" files, right? I may be wrong but I think dBase 3 only worked with free or separate tables. (In those early days, I know I always called them databases, but gradually I've learned the distinction between tables and databases, files holding multiple tables.

Anyway, back to the main problem, many assorted program languages can read dBase tables, either directly, through importing or using ODBC. Someone in your product's forum should be able to help. If you are using Visual dBase, then why not post also in the Visual dBase forum289 or check their FAQs? If your SQL is a different product, then go to that product's forum and post there.

Hope this helps. dbMark
