I am running DbaseIIIPlus under Windows XP Pro. When I open Dbase it opens in a small window. It takes several clicks to get a full window (the maximize button doesn't work). I go into properties and click full window, but the next time I want to use the program the Properties dialogue box has been changed. Any body got any ideas?

Hi ChaZ
I do have a short cut but when I right click on it it doesn't have a screen tab; it does have run tab which gives a choice of running minimized, maximized or normal. I clicked maximized but it didn't have any effect. There's probably an answer for this somewhere but I don't have it yet--

In Win2K or WinXP you can right-click on the DOS window's menu bar, select Properties, then Fonts. If you switch to Lucida Console even larger fonts are selectable. Have you tried using Lucida rather than Raster fonts? See my comments in Thread182-627060 and Thread779-623690. (Yes, I pasted this from another thread and just found out that someone deleted that thread 627060.)
Have you tried running it within Command.com rather than Cmd.exe? Having a DOS window (or several) open can cause Windows to slow down too, depending on the application. Has something to do with how the DOS programs keep polling the keyboard or whatever. Using Command.com and moving the sensitivity property to the right can alleviate that issue.

This was the solution to the problem - -Toys for Windows has a program which when invoked "opens a command.com window right here". When opening Dbase from this window it opens full screen (and works faster, too).
