I have a program that is written in Clipper (dos) and it uses dbase for the file storage...But when I leave my program and go into dbase to look at the raw dbf's and am only browsing there and then leave and go back into my clipper program...my printer THEN seems to be stalling...example of this is when I want to print out labels it will hesitate for about 15 sec. before it starts to print.....To get my printer working again the right way I must power my computer down and restart...then everything is ok until I want to go back into dbase...

dBase IV Printing Problems

It sounds like for some reason, it is not releasing the file after you edit it. There may be some sort of record lock or something happening that you are not aware of. What O/S are you using.
