I recently switched to windows xp and my dbase for windows code closes down without any warning, loosing all records entered since last start up. My code works well in windows 98 and also in windows 2000.
I cant find any reason for this as yet. I have been writing this particular program since 1982 and have come screaming and kicking through each and every dbase update.
I have been pleased with the improvements in the capacity of the program. However, this is the first time a computer upgrade has caused this type of problem for me. Some of the code needed to be cleaned up to operate in the xp environment, but it was tracable. I thought that perhaps some error was closing it down as was the case in earlier versions of dbase. How can I trace the problem to its source. Thanks for any help that can be offered- Rudy
