How are these temp files created. How can you view them from enterprise manager. What are the advantages over datafiles.
Can anybody answer these questions. Are they purely new for oracle 8!
HELP please!!!

Hi smacattack,
dba_temp_files shows informations similar to that of dba_data_files for the temporary files in the database. You can see these by writing;

SQL> SELECT TABLESPACE_NAME,FILE_NAME,BYTES,
AUTOEXTENSIBLE
FROM DBA_TEMP_FILES;

Probably DBA_TEMP_FILES are new for Oracle 8i. In Oracle 8 these are not available.
