Is there any proven ways to migate db2connect packages from one host to another? We are going to do a migration and would like shorten the migration time. Thanks!

Have you tried doing remote binds to your target machines from your DB2 Connect machine?

We cannot do this because the target machine is not available until the cutover date. What we propose to do is to prepare all db2 packages in our staging environment and then do a simply copy / load-unload to migrate our applications to the target env. Any idea?

Here's the env config for your reference:

Host: OS/390 2.9
DB2 for OS/390: 6.1.1
Bind environment: Solaris 5.8
DB2Connect: V7.2 FP5

We bind the packages using db2proc (Java program) via DB2Connect. We do not want to repeat this process as this is quite time-consuming. In the Solaris platform, we can simple copy the Java packages (.ser) from a machine to another. And what we would like to explore is how could it be done in Host. Thanks.

Regards,
Rebecca
