I was pushed into trying to clean up someone elses mess and have no where to even start. The worst part is I just need to schedule a backup and purge/repair. I was able to run the 'Reorg' command from the command line counsel but I don't want the user getting in that deep. Is there some where in IBM's DB2 that a person can schedule a back up and then purge all entries that are 6 months old? Is there a utility, add in, or anything else? In SQL Server there is a 'Truncate' command that works great for this but I was not able to find any SQL commands for DB2 that did a simmilar operation aside from a 'Delete' and Then a 'Reorg' but I could only 'Reorg' from the command line. I hope this gives enough info to spark some thought but I also know zip about DB2 so if there is any other info needed just let me know. Any help is greatly appreciated in Advance.

Well, where are you backing up the database. Is it directory or some other media. I.e TIVOLI Storage.

That has not been determined at this point. I would like to back up to a directory if possible.
