I have a DB named DB1 and I would like to resotre the same exact copy of it on the same Server called DB2. It's important to keep DB1 on the server. How could I accomplish this and what's the best method?
Thank you in advance

From Enterprise Manager
Right click on Databases and select all tasks -> restore db
In the Restore as Database field put new db name
Select from device
Select from devices button
Restore from disk and Add you .bak file You will need to navigate to file.
Click OK to get back to the Restore databases screen.
Select the options tab
Select the Force restore option
Change the name of the files in the Move to Physical file name.
Click Ok to restore.
This is the same as doing a RESTORE DATABASE WITH MOVE option.

- Database performance looks fine, it must be the Network!
