I have an Option 81C, Call Pilot, Symposium, and OTM. What do I need to do special for Daylight savings this year?

nothing beyond the many recent post about dst. There is, however, a PEP for cp relating to desktop users, as there is a chance for the time to be an hour off when playing messages as a desktop user.

For 2007 you will need to change your start and end dates as follows:

Go to LD 2, this is documented there

To move the clock forward on the 2nd Sunday of March at 2 am
FWTM 3 2 1 2

To move the clock backward on the 1st Sunday of November at 2 am or change the last digit to 3 to change it at 3am
BWTM 11 1 1 2

Can anyone help explain the relationship between Windows and CallPilot, Symposium, and OTM on each of their repsective servers when it comes to system time?

It's clear cut on MerMail: MM takes its time from the switch. For me, it's not so clear cut on Symposium, CP, and OTM. I don't really understand if they take their time from the PBX or from the Windows OS.

They take their time from the PBX

Here is info on OTM, CCMA, CP is on a CP post. If a lot of techs want release docs on CCMA/CP/OTM/CS1000/ I can post them all in complete form. They are all relevant excerts from larger bulletins.

APPENDIX A - Procedure for supported Windows OS based servers:
********************************************************************************
A hot fix supplied by Microsoft will need to be installed. The hot fix and instructions for its use are
available here:
The above hot fix is not applicable to all Contact Center supported Windows operating systems.
Please read the linked Microsoft bulletin carefully and determine if it is applicable to your system.
If it is not, a manual configuration will be required. This is described on the following Microsoft
web page:
APPENDIX B - Procedure for servers running Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE):

2007 DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME CHANGES FOR CS1000 TELEPHONY
MANAGER TM
BACKGROUND
Starting in 2007, the Daylight Saving Time (DST) period will be extended by one month as per
the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
ANALYSIS
Nortel's CS 1000 Telephony Manager 3.0 (formerly known as Optivity Telephony Manager) does
not have, or use, any embedded system date / clock in the application. It relies on the underlying
Operating System (OS) to obtain the date / time information. As a result of this, the change in the
daylight savings date does not directly affect TM.
RECOMMENDATIONS
In order to ensure that your Windows OS system date / clock supports the new daylight saving,
you should refer to the Microsoft website "Preparing for daylight saving time changes in 2007"
(< for specifics on its support of the
new DST changes. Or contact your Windows OS vendor and ensure that any necessary and
appropriate patches are applied to your OS so as to support the new DST changes.
