As I am sure many of you know, DST is changing for 2007 and is going to be a headache for Admins.

I was wondering what everyone else was doing to update servers/Exchange/workstations.

There are patches available for download but nothing yet (that I can find) available through WSUS.

Servers/Workstations..
Exchange 2003 SP2...

I was about to start a similar topic. I'm searching for the same updates as well. I'm also looking in to updates for Linux OS.

If you do all updates in XP and '03 you should be ok. Remember it is NOT a critical update so you need to do the optional updates as well. The biggest problem will be with the 2k servers that don't get updates. You'll have to manually install the update. There are several threads about this in the 2k forum as well as this one.

Cheers
Rob

If someone helps you, leave them a star. It is just a nice way to say "Thank you"

The answer is "PEBKAC!

Cool...I was noy syncing "Updates"...not sure why MS isn't labeling this as critical since it is pretty darn important

If it's available in WSUS, are there any issues with pushing it out to Workstations and Servers? I update my servers manually anyways. Workstations are automatic

As an edit to my post above....I am only XP SP2/Server2003...no 2k or below

Daveyd123,
Here are a couple of articles regarding DST:

1. Win2k is a hotfix you have to purchase.
2. Win2k3 is a patch you can download (this will be changed to a critical patch shortly).
3. Exchange has a patch
4. Sharepoint has a patch
5. Outlook has a patch but I think Microsoft released a new patch that will be applied on the Exchange server. This new patch will take care of the outlook clients so you don't have to install it on every outlook client.

Hope that helps.

Enigma99...

The patches look like they were released for WSUS on 12/12/06 for Servers and Workstations. (KB928388)

I have the Workstations updating themselves automatically and I manually update the servers.

I assume after WSUS updates the PCs, and I install the update manually on each server (the servers pull it down from my WSUS server), I should be OK

Actually...Just found this...

On 9 February 2007 we released a Windows Time Zone Update Rollup, KB 931836 to the Download Center. This update rollup replaces KB 928388 (global time zone update) and KB 929120 (W. Australia Time Zone Update). It includes all the time zone changes in the previously released time zone updates and additional time zone changes that were adopted and announced after we created KB 928388.

KB931836 will be available on MU and through WSUS on February 13, 2007 as well.

Hey guys, is there any patches for Windows NT?

Just got WSUS updated and received the DST update for 2003 Server and XP SP2 (KB931836) and for Exchnage 2003 SP2 (KB926666).

I assume by letting WSUS install both the updates to all servers and workstations everything should be OK by the time DST rolls around March 11th?
