My system is an Avaya with Partner VM R3. Currently, I have AutoAttendant set to answer my calls and then calls are redirected to the appropriate extensions. I have programmed a night service button, however, when it is on my calls just ring and my voicemail does not pick up. I want ext 16 voicemail to pick up at night with no rings (this phone is always set to DND and VMS cover). I know this can be done but I need help.

since there has been some confusion about the equipment in question, you have an acsr7, what is the voicemail that you have.

i think it might be a partner mail vs, but i am not sure. please verify.

to answer your question in your last post.

yes, i think you have it all down now. it may not be pretty, or easy, but it should work for one call at a time.

i think you will need to make line 3 appear on x16 as well.

also, you do not want to use a 4 conductor[2 pair] line cord to plug the spare ext to the spare line port. use a 2 conductor [single pair] line cord.

we will get you there titanman, just bare with us. these other guys know a lot more than i do, so listen to them, i have only been doing avaya for about 2 years. they know what works from experience. i just play until i find a way, and they have taught me a lot just from reading their posts.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Your solution worked great. I used a Cat5e patch cable (4 pair) and it still works. I'm assuming a single pair cord would be beneficial to ward off a second line from intefering with a call.
As of now, AA answers call during Day mode and callers can use Selector codes to be routed to appropriate extensions. During Night service calls are automatically picked up by x16's mailbox with a "office closed" greeting and then they can leave a message.
I appreciate your help

no problem, i am sure we were all glad to help or we would not be here. i was not the only one who helped though.
