I am using SQL Server 2000 with Crystal Reports XI. I have a datetime formatted field in the SQL Server database. However, when I browse the data in the Crystal Report the data only shows as a date. The time is stored in the database, but is not showing and cannot be formatted in the Crystal Report.

Any ideas?

You may have changed the default behavior for datetimes, check the File->Options->Fields->Date->Date

I did check that. All of the options (Date, Time, Date and Time) are set to the system Default. I even tried changing them to a custom format to force the time on the datetime option. Still when I browse the data, the fields are only dates. However, both dates and times are stored in the database. I'm really stumped here.

I found it for a second - but now the option is gone again. It was under Report Options - something like "Read Date-Time format as" (Date, Time or Date-Time). I was able to switch it once for this report, but now I can't find the menu option again for another report. Where can I turn this menu option on?

Sounds like this report might have been created in 8 or 8.5 and then opened and saved in XI, which doesn't have the convert datetime option. You could try to identify the original report in 8, and change it there before opening in XI and saving under a different name--assuming you still have your old version.
