I want the current date to appear in a control at all times can someone tell me what to do in order to have this happen.

When I enter that function I get this message.

The function you entered can't be used in this expression.

* You may have used a DoEvents, LBound, UBound, Spc, or tab function in an expression.

* You may have used an SQL aggregate function, such as count, in a design grid or in a calculated control or field.

Any ideas why this appears.

Is this control bound to a field in a table?? If so, define the Default Value of that field to =date()

It is bound to a field in a table but the same thing still happens.

Not sure what you are trying to do. If you want the current date to appear in a control "at all times" it should definitely NOT be bound to a table.
If you have tried =Date() as the control source of an Unbound textbox and it doesn't work, I would suggest checking your References.
