date -u +%H displays 14 when the time is 10...

TZ looks ok.
Any ideas why the Hour displays as 14 when it actually is 10:01

14

Seems normal to me. The command date with flag -u shows the date in CUT (GMT) timezone, which is normally 5 hrs ahead of EST and in EDT (what you are in now) it is 4 hrs ahead. What is the problem?
