I currently have the Long Date format for a field in an Access report. I want to use a function or functions that will display the day of the week only.

It currently displays "Thursday, October 7, 2004". I want to show only "Thursday".

Any help is appreciated.

Try
Format(MyDate, "dddd")

Dont forget to change the field name

Hope this helps

I think hymn meant to change the text box name, not the field name.

I did the following:

=Format([RETREAT_DETAILS].[START_DATE],"dddd")

However, it still came up with "#Name?" when I ran the report...

I used the Expression Builder to format my ControlSource.

I figured it out.

I used format([RETREAT_DETAILS].[START_DATE],"ddd"). The extra "d" made all the difference!

Thanks for the help.
