I created a report which is driven by a query. I put the date parameter code in the criteria field. I get the start date and end date boxes just fine. Can anyone tell me how to make it so the dates are formatted in the boxes, and how to make a warning come up if the dates entered aren't between certain dates? Right now, it is just a big empty box that I enter 07/02/02 manually... it would be nice if the "/" were automatically there when you entered the date.

Sorry if this is confusing...

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

I use a form to capture the date range information on some queries that I run.

I have modeled it after a form contained in the MS Access samples directory (c:\program files\MS Office\Office\samples\solutions.mdb).

When the solutions database opens, click on "sample reports", then click on "employee sales", then click "ok".

A sample of the form will open, go into design view and view the code associated with the form.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Hope it works for you.

You can get those ' / ' things to show up IF you really want to - but I suggest that after a few uses you'll soon get rid of them again.

They are okay if you Tab into the control. But if you mouse click into the control you have to be a LOT more accurate in where you click your mouse - otherwise you start data entry in the middle of the sequence and that messes everything up.

The users ( that I've come across ) are so used to typing in all of the data characters includeing the ' / ' that they actually find it slower to have to remember to leave them out if they appear automatically.

Personally I tend to leave them out.
