I've got a crystal report that has the criteria:

DateDiff("M",Field1},CurrentDate)>24

When I run the report directly from crystal report I don't have a problem but when I put it into business object enterprise and run it from there I get the error message:

Error in File ~tmp45506976b6f8a314.rpt: Error in formula Record Selection: A date is required here. Details: errorKind

I've looked at the field and it is definately a date field.

Why doesn't business objects recognise this as a date field.

The field comes from an SQL 2008 server and I'm using CR 2008 and BOE XI.

Many Thanks

Is {Field1} a date field (new to SQL 2008) and not a date-time field? Either way you might want to convert the {Field1} to a date field to see if it makes a difference (date({Field1})).

FYI: I noticed that there is no left brace for Field1 in your example.

The problem I've got is that crystal reports see this field as a date field but business objects see it as a string.

Why are they different?

I have not seen that issue before. Have you checked the ODBC on the server to make sure it is pointing to the correct DB and it is the same version as your development box.

Which version of BO XI are you using? If you're using an odbc connections are the same odbc drivers installed on the server as on the workstation where you're developing the report in Crystal?

-Dell

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

That's what the problem was. The server which has BO installed had a different versions of the ODBC driver to my machine. I created a new ODBC and all worked fine.
Thanks for all your help.
