Is there any way I can get rid of the column headings on a datasheet subform? The column headings come from attached labels on the the textboxes that define the form. If you remove this text, the name of the textbox appears at the top of each column when you run the form.

This form needs to be updateable without all of the columns going the same which is my experience with continuous forms. And it has to be placed on a main form anyway. If I have to I can put * or ^ or something in that field but I'd like for it to be blank.

Wether or not a form or subform is updateable is dependent on wether its [blue]RecordSource[/blue] is updateable or not. [red]Not its view![/red] Could you [blue]elaborate on the experience you speak of above[/blue] as I'm detecting a misunderstanding here.

Now in support of [blue]alvechurchdata[/blue], switching to [blue]Continuous View[/blue] would simply allow you to remove the labels ... [blue]what your after[/blue]. Also a [blue]Continuous View[/blue] form can be made to look just like a [blue]datasheet[/blue]. What you don't realize is that in [blue]datasheet view[/blue] [red]you loose alot of form functionality![/red] ... a little too much for me ... the reason I never use it!

I agree with The AceMan, but if you want to get rid of the headers in a datasheet view. Base your datasheet on a query. For each field in the query right click on the fields in design view and select properties. Select Caption and put a Space in for the caption. Do this for all fields. There will be no caption in the Header, but the bar remains. No way to get rid of the bar.

So what happen to [blue]projecttoday?[/blue] [surprise]

It seems to me that when I tried using an Access form in continuous format that whenever you typed something in one of the fields they all got that value. Haven't tried it lately though. Of course, what I'm using now is like a continuous form only it's a subform and it's in datasheet view. Anyway this is no big deal. I'm going to try putting a space in and if that doesn't work i'll put *'s in.

Thank all for posting.

The behaviour you describe, occurs when a control on a continuous form is unbound, i e it has no control source.

A bound control, will display the information per each row in the continuous form, but an unbound control, will function basically as what it is - multiple instances of the same control.

Inputting a value into an unbound control, it will be displayed in every instance of this control (i e, on each row in the continuous form)

BTW - you will get excactly the same behaviour in a datasheet, too, if you remove the controlsource from one of the fields there.
