dataset component

i'm creating dymanic pages and i don't know how many grids i will need, but for each one i want a dataset component, is there a way to create it through actionscript?(without added it to the stage)

I'm not sure you can instantiate a Dataset with script. You can instantiate a datagrid and you can change the datasource of a dataset that you have on the stage. Do you not know how many datasets you are going to need?

no because the amount datasets/girds needed is coming from a table in a database i.e. normally one but it can be 4 or more grids with each linked to a different table in the database

So you might be able to do 4 or 5 different datasets and change the datasource then right? (I have never tried this it's only a theory)

i can set the datasource for them through AS, but it would be a lot easier if i could create an instance of the dataset through AS
