Hi All,

PC running Win2000 Director 8.5

Having read a number of threads concerning databases using V12, Valentina or ADO Xtra I am currently considering the purchase of Valentina.
The main reason is (from what I have read) that Valentina requires less scripting than V12 and may well be faster.
I have downloaded the trial version and found that although there are examples and a reference, it assumes some previous knowledge of databses from the user.
I need to read and search an MS Access database of about 60Mb from CD rom. I needs only to be read, not changed and no new entries need to be made.
If anyone has experience of this programme I would be grateful for any suggestions.
If anyone believes one of the other products available would be better suited to the task, please let me know.

if you're after a program that handles access databases, but only have a limited knowledge of programming, then try coldfusion..the lastest version is mx.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I had not considered coldfusion for this task. I did visit the Macromedia site following your suggestion but quickly discounted the option when I saw the price tag.
