Hi,

We have a database maintenance plan runs on SQL 2000 SP4 environment.

One of the step: "Optimizations Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'DB Maintenance for MyDB'" had hung for 1 hours while normally it took less than 1 minute to complete.

I could not be able to find any error message (not from Job history, MS SQL Error Log, SQL Agen error log, and the log files on the servers)

The only place carries error message is on msdb..sysdbmaintplan_history. The message is as pasted below.

[Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 01000)] Error 0: This server has been disconnected. You must reconnect to perform this operation.

Other than this job, all other jobs run fine without issue.

Please help.

Thanks

If you right click on the maint plan there is a view history option. But it should say the same you got from the table.

From the error is sounds like the agent stopped during re-index. Did you look for any restart notices in the sql agent log or sql log?

The SQL Agent service was never restarted during the period.

Moreover, rest of the scheduled SQL jobs are running normally except this one.
