Hi,

I'm using Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise(Evaluation) with a Lotus Notes database.

I have an intermittent problem of the Database Logon page appearing when i click 'View' from the ePortfolio page (It is an on demand report). This prompts for the Database user ID and password, and even when i enter these details the same screen just reappears.

Sometimes this can be fixed by going into the Management Console and re-entering the database logon password which has mysteriously disapeared. Sometimes this doesn't make any difference.

Also i can preview and refresh the report with no probs from Crystal Reports.

please can somebody explain what is going on, it is driving me mad !(and getting me into trouble :( )

cheers, SQLGirl

Solution pt 1

DO you have the correct ODBC connection? I had the same problem and this is how I fixed it:

I created the reports on my desktop using crystal reports and an ODBC connection called: e.g. "data" I then created the same ODBC conection name (e.g. "data")on the server that is running crystal enterprise.

Once I published the reports again, there was no more error.

Soluion pt2

When setting up your ODBC connection are you using SQL authentication or NT authetication? Did you test the connection to the db? Did it work.

If you are using SQL authentication, make sure you have set up a user in SQL server that wil have access. You will then need to enter the username and password in crystal enterprise once you publish the report.

If you are using NT authentication, there should be no need for entering any username and password.

I hope this helps.
