Database is currently being used by someone else?!

I got the following error message when I tried to open lotus notes and I get the same even after re-starting the system:


"This database is currently being used by someone else. In order to share a Notes database, all users must use a Domino Server instead of a File Server".

Can anyone tell me what the problem is

I got the message while opening the DB.Could you tell me why this problem occurs and how to stop it from happening again.

Hi,
we sometimes get this error msg when the backup job is not finished on the server in the morning. Reboot the server to check if the problem comes from the server. If not, reboot the PC to check if it comes from the PC.
Our DB are now too large (400 to 600 Mb) or the xSeries 235 server is too busy, but we often have some error msg when our users want to open their mailbox, like "$inbox empty".
We tell them to do [CTL/SHIFT/F9] or to replace the template.
Any other idea ?

Hi all,

Thanks a lot. It must be the backup software. We had just implemented Veritas Backup and that must be why.
