Databases have been in use for about a year and half but I have been developing reports and forms continually for the client. Within the last 5 month the databases freeze sometimes at users' site after it is minimized. I can not replicate the error on my network which has a different platform and a different version of ACCESS. I have two Databases, Adult and Juvenile, on a Novel Network. The operating system is Windows NT. There can be up to 20 users accessing database at one time. The secretary who freezes the most has both databases open at one time and has them minimized for easy access. This client is still using ACCESS 97

Here is the email I received from a tech at the site.

I have been working with Patti this morning and she called me to her desk when the Juvenile DB froze. She had it minimized and when I tried to open it, I got the following message: MS Access
Run-Time '13'
Type Mismatch

I closed that window and I got this message: Disk or Network Error

I had to go to task manager to exit the program fully. I checked the memory usage before it froze and when it froze and they were the same.
Memory usage: 124796K / 687936K 44 processes

We are using Windows NT4.00.1381. Patti was accessing the Adult DB when the Juvenile DB froze.

Hiya,

Is this happening on ONLY one CLIENT and / or is this happening with ONLY one 'VERSION' of the DB?

Is the client using ADULT or JUVENILE?

Are ADULT & JUVENILE the different versions that you mention, or are there different versions of both ADULT and JUVENILE?

Can you elaborate further?

Regards,

Darrylle

Adult and Juvenile are two seperate databases. This problem was just reported but it is reported to be happening more and more. It happens more to the one secretary who does intakes for both Adults and Juveniles. The other secretaries, directors, and counselors are starting to have the problem also. I had a tech at the site observe her and he also found it to freeze after being minimized. I have error routines and resume commands in all procedures, so I don't understand why it freezes. Do you think running two databases from Access from one CPU at one time could be the error. Thanks Paul
