I have tried the following Arcserve utilities, but error message I got was "unable to login to database"

dbcheck -a -L casdb;admin;password;astpsdat

dbcheck -a -L arcserv;admin;password;astpsdat

dbcheck -a -L servername;admin;password;astpsdat

from command prompt in c:\program files\computerassocaites\Arcserve\database

Also tried editing Velocisi.ini file, but that did not work either. And deleted rdm.chk, rdm.chi, but cannot find raaaaaaa.chg to delete.

Any Arcserve utility or utilities I use, I get " unable to login to database"

How do I use re-initialising database? Would this do anything to the databse? I haven't had a backup for 2 week's now beacuse of the Databa Engine Stops during backup.

Please help!!!

This should have been posted under your other thread. Server name in either casdb or arcserve depending on the version of ARCserve which was not provided, password is secret and not password.

The Version of Arcserve is 2000 using Windows 2000.

I have used secret for the password and either casbd or arcserve and this did not help either.

Should I be logged on locally to the Server or on to the Domain? The Arserve account is using Domain account;

e.g. Arcserve @jci.com

I really need to solve this today. Thanks David.

I finally work it out. That's how to use the Arcserve DB Utilities.
For example: dbfix -a -L arcserve;admin;secret;ASTPSDAT

I also read dbutil.readme file in Arcserve Directory.

Thanks Davidmichel.
