Database Engine offline

I have windows server 2003, and Arcserve r11.5 and the database engine keeps turning itself off. It is set to automatic in windows services and in arcserve it self the other engines seem fine. Backups are saying they are working but when i go to do a restore i am unable to. When i do restore by session there are no sessions available it just says sessions. When i merge the tape it fails when i scan it picks up two sessions but i still cant see them from restore.

Please help!!!

For your merge problem do not use the catalogue merge:
Go to the registry and create this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ ComputerAssociates \ ARCserveIT \ Base \ Task \ Merge

Key Name: DonotUseCatalogMerge
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 1

Don t forget to delete it after for normal use.
