I am using Crystal 11 and publish through the console manager. I have a report that displays fine in Crystal, but when I publish it I get an error "Database Connector Error". I have several other reports that use this same ODBC connection, so I can't figure out what it is. I tried deleting the report out of the console and re-saved it but I am still getting the same error.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sounds like the database information is wrong or incomplete, except that you've apparently published other reports...

Could it be that you're using a differnet user/pw for this report and they don't have permission to the objects it uses?

I don't use any passwords or user names on my reports, so I don't think so.

This is the only report that is not working with this database and ODBC connection.

I can go directly into the database and run the query and it works just fine, so I don't know what the problem is.

One of my tricks is to always install CR on the Crystal Reports Server so that I can test the connectivity. CR itself tends to give better error information.

Unfortunately I don't have that luxury, but it is a good suggestion.

Hi,
On the Process..Database tab in the CMC,is the info correct?
Can you run it from there ( using the Preview button)

What database?

Yes, the information is correct and set up exactly the same way as the other reports that are run from this ODBC.

No, I cannot run the report from the CMC. I get the same error. This is the only report that will not run.

It is an ACCESS database.

I have tried re-saving it, re-naming it, etc. without any success.

Thanks.

Hi,
Do the other reports ( the ones that use the same DSN ) also access the same database table(s)/queries as the one that does not work..

Anything special about the table name, etc?

This report accesses a query that the other reports do not use. I can run the query in the database just fine. I also restored a backup of this query but that did not solve the problem either.

Hi Igmin,

The issue is being caused by you rpeorting off an Access database. Usually this is because the Crystal/Business Objects Enterprise services start using the Localsystem account. You need to change these services to use a domain account that has access permissions to your access database.

The services you need to use the domain account with are:

Crystal Reports Job Server: For scheduled report jobs

Crystal Page Server: For view on demand reports using DHTML, ActiveX and Java viewers

Report Application Server: For view on demand reports using the Advanced DHTML viewer.
