Could you help, please?
I have to do regular backup of data for one year. I want to do just regular backup. and I don't really understand how because, the books always talk about backup related to a certain situation. Now I have a lot of info I want to use tapes. (IT IS ORACLE 8, in NT), could you, please help.
thank you.

Your best bet is to use a regular database backup on non-peak hours and transaction log backups throughout the day. You can restore your database to a point in time in case of a hardware failure only if you use transaction log backups.
Backing up to a tape would be a good idea for a once a week venture if the database is big.
