data source not found

In the administration the connection is verified 'OK' but when I access the database from the login I get a
Data source sd99 could not be found

I'm using a local environment (cfm files) with the database on another server.

On another local machine, the exact same settings work, I'm lost

have you setup "sd99" as your DSN in the CF admin datasources?
