I have a Fujitsu 60GB Laptop HDD. One day it stopped working. I am unable to boot using it. If I connect to my pc, it could not find it. I could see that it is spinning as when I hold it, I could feel the small vibration. I have my personal photos in it. What is the solution to have this. The HDD is MHT2060AT. I also bought a new MHT2060AT and changed the circuit board and it did not work.

Please someone help me.

Try to get an external enclosure and connect the hd through USB to another computer. There is a good chance that it will work. Otherwise you need professional data recovery service. Try

You can try this data recovery tool, Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software. It helps to recover data from inaccessible hard drive. Connect your hard drive as slave scan it with the software. You can download the demo version from(If you were able to see the data through demo then can save them by getting the full version.

If the data recovery software does not provide any assistance then you have to go for data recovery services. It is an expensive method to get the back the back.

Before doing something it is a good practice to find out as much information about the subject as possible. For example, you can try to read some data recovery reviews here, it's a good review site:

There are tools to recover data from malfunctioned drives ( read about them in the corresponding section on the site). Also, if you want only photos - there are photo recovery tools available - they better recover image-files, by analyzing the data structure and recognizing images there.

It is usually assumed that shareware will show you the recoverable data before you buy it, so you could setup some shareware application just to know that the data is still there. But freeware apps are also availabe, maybe not so powerful, but free.

I can only use all these utilities and tools if I could see the drive. When I connect the drive my pc does not even recognise that there is an external drive. I know athat the motor is running as I could feel the vibration, but the drive just does not get listed.

Is there any way I could have this drive available/listed.

You're right, "I can only use all these utilities and tools if I could see the drive". Check to see if the drive is being recognised in the BIOS. If not, then you haven't got past the first post, so to speak, and only a specialist data recovery firm can help you further.

Are the controller circuits boards you swapped over identical? By that I mean model number AND version number?

I bought a similar drive. The Circuit Board seems a little different. I tried swapping and it did not work.

TWO things.

How can I order a similar circuit board/version.

Socondly, If I remove the magnetic drive from the casing and swap it unto another disk, (I understand due to dust particles, I have a greater risk of damage), but my question is, will that work. Has soneone tried that in this forum. If yes, can I have instructions of this process.
