I have what seems to me to be a strange problem. I'm using Goldmine 4, dBASE data and Crystal 7. I'm am running a fairly simple report but the data doesn't post to the report properly when a certain Select parameter is used.

I currently have a date parameter setup to let the user input the date range.
When just using the date range, it pulls all of the data, works ok.

I then try to narrow the report down to one product called "Millstar"

This field only exists on 5 out of 25,000 records. My record selection formula looks like this: {ContHist.ONDATE} = {?Date Range} and {Contact1.TITLE} = "Millstar"

When that is used in conjunction with the date range I get no data. As a test I exported just the 5 records I wanted plus 5 more random records into an empty data set and ran the same report. It worked ok.

Also, I am running this report over a WAN. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

Your formula looks correct but try the following to troubleshoot.

Try using Startswith instead of Equal to, and use "M" first, then "MI" and see if that has any effect.

Can you get it to work with anything other than Millstar in the same field or does every value fail?

Also try using Between Mi and Mo and see if that works.

Can you sort on date and then title? That might help... or not. [sig][/sig]

I tried the starts with M suggestion and only a handful of records came back. I know for a fact that we have over 1000 contacts starting with M. I also tried the Millstar selection with a trim function with no success. As a test I tagged about 100 contact records and exported to a new DBF and was able to obtain exactly what I wanted. As I mentioned before we have over 25,000 contact records but we also have in excess of 700,000 history records which are included in the search. Is there a limit on the number of records Crystal can process?

Does this only effect Millstar, or doesn any value you try fail in the same way?

Which tables are used in the report?
How are they linked and in what order?
What are the link fields?
AccountNo to AccountNO?

Are you sure that MillStar is in the Title Field and not the Company or Contact fields?
