I bought a Maxtor 160gb HD. It worked fine for about 2 weeks. Yesterday I wanted to access a directory, when I got in I the directory I didn't see anything. So I when into another directory and the files were there. So I clicked the file and it said 'file missing or corrupt run chkdsk utility'. So I rebooted my pc and it starting running the chkdsk utility. It was reading the following:
The USA check value, 0xbcc2, at block 0x3 is incorrect.
The expected value is 0x200.
Deleting orphan file record segment 133437.
Index entry Fedora Core 2 of index $I30 in file 0xd067 points to unused file 0xd070.Deleting
When it finished I went back to windows and most of my files were gone.
What can I do to recover the data.
