After running DMM on a bcm400 4.0 to prepare to migrate to a 450 6.0 the report showed that none of the mailbox messages would migrate.
Is this normal or is it supposed to migrate messages?


70 Error Failed to retrieve msgs for Mailbox 5330
71 Error Failed to retrieve msgs for Mailbox 5338
72 Error Failed to retrieve msgs for Mailbox 5337
 

Seems to be an issue with DMM, some reported no problem but others can't migrate the messages.I would recommend having your customer retrieve all their messages prior to the upgrade.
 
Part of the upgrade kit is a Unified Messaging Auth code,,I learned that it needs to be applied to the 400 4.0 before trying to migrate,,,this is supposed to enable the messages to be migrated.

don't do the import on the OAM port, it warns about mailbox issues if you do in the DMM guide. I'm waiting on DMM 1.1.2 (I assume) to be provided. DMM 1.1.0 had some problems where IP sets did not migrate and this caused large knock on effects for the rest of telephony (to the point you don't trust any of it). I'm waiting on new version of DMM (I assume 1.1.2) because it has a few SMTP holes which result in mailbox messages not being migrated (I've ran into this twice). Don't try migration on anything less than DMM 1.1.1 (needed for both the 4.0 and 450).
Newx DMM version will also handle situations where a mailbox is missing it's last name (GUI on a 4.0 does not allow this, however I had a mailbox somehow with no last name).
 
sorry, to clarify, dmm next version will plug the smtp holes; so mean no more missing mbox messages.
